COBRA Subsidy Expires

The federal COBRA subsidy has ended as of June 1, 2010 for many who started receiving it when it was first made available back in March ‘09. According to the article “COBRA Subsidy Expiration” found on insurance newsnet.com, research shows closely priced alternatives to the COBRA subsidy will be available.

According to Kaiser Health News , Senate Democrats continue to push for an extension of the COBRA subsidy retroactive to June 1. Kaiser cites the Wall Street Journal , which indeed reports that the COBRA subsidy is still in play -- but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other Democrats who support an extension of the COBRA subsidy
