Shelled out on a nice manicure and want to make sure it lasts? You can make it last up to two weeks by applying a clear top coat twice a week after the manicure. It prevents chipping and keeps the polish hard and chip resistant despite usual nail traumas such as tapping away on a computer keyboard.

I think I love the 'fashion nails' manicures at Hari's Salon (Knightsbridge) by manicurist Zoe Irwin. She's taken inspiration from amazing designers and bags and conceived a 'matching' manicure - the best one being Loving Luella after the modern iconic Seymour Bag (pictured above). Pink neon tips complement the strips in the same shade

chalk this sense of calm up to the time-out I took after shopping.
I rarely get manicures and this was a serious cheer-me-up-now type of situation.
It ate up a good portion of time I could be using for much more important things today, but my sanity needed tending to.

To make your at home manicure last longer, make sure you start with the right foundations. Before you go anywhere near nail polish, rub the nail with polish remover to make sure it’s clean and free of oils and dirt. Next, apply a base coat and make sure it’s dry before you move on to the colour.
