A myeloma list member asked me if I would publish the following question: has anyone with low hemoglobin ever been on a long flight? If so, he would appreciate receiving details, advice etc. (If you don’t want to leave a public comment, please use my Contact form…I will forward any messages to him).

I'm sad to know that as of yet, I still don't have any answers as to why my hemoglobin is dropping. I just surrendered another 8 vials of blood to my clinic which is required for my up and coming (and slightly doubtful) trip. Unfortunately, even though I brought blood work in at the end of July, the clinic in Florida wants bloodwork

(hemoglobin) count. My HGB was 9.8 when it should be 12 to 15.5. When Nurse Amy came over with the injection, I thought she was trying to give me the Neulasta injection, which should not happen till next Friday. She explained that we need to boost my red blood cell count. She also gave me a printout of my lab results, which was super cool not that I know how

A patient just asked me if praying would help to improve a low sperm count. My knee jerk response was - Of course not ! But then I thought a little bit more about my reply, and modified it. " While praying may not help to improve the sperm count, it can definitely help you to cope with the problem - and its consequences - far better".
