Last Thursday Jaylon received a blood transfusion to start the weekend. The combination of his chemotherapy drugs have pretty much shocked his bone marrow. Had my lesson at the hospital this morning on how to give myself an injection - once a day for 5 days for each cycle of this chemo. These injections stimulate the bone marrow to create more white blood cells.
Side effects can be aching bones, and sometimes nausea. Here's hoping for no side effects since I'm still pretty weak from last chemo...

Tegretol Also Know As Carabamazepine Blood Count

Today, I went to the clinic to get a blood test to check the count on Tegretol known as Carabamazepine. This is to make sure that I'm not getting too much of the drug. This is good. Maybe the problem is I'm taking too much of it. Maybe cutting down on it might decrease the dizziness. I hope so.

Jaylon went in for a blood test this afternoon. His counts look good overall. The platelet counts are low but the doctor expects it to go back up. He has several bruises on his leg due to the low platelet counts. Jaylon is scheduled to go back on Thursday for chemo.

It is now May, and we are still struggling with blood counts (ANC) that are too high. Hannah has been running about 2000 too high for several months. Her doctors keep increasing her chemo amounts trying to bring that number back down.
Last month, Hannah had a bit of a break through, in that her ANC came down 1000, but with still a 1000 to go ...
