Elisabeth is on track to be our tallest child. Ha! Isn't it funny they way things work out sometimes? The one that I would prefer to be petite is growing like a weed - and the one who loves to play basketball (Alexandra) is the shortest in her class.
That's how life is, you know? We don't get to choose these things.
So Lizzy Long-legs it ...

Mister Long Legs
Ethan has been sick for the past week, hence this photo of him actually sitting still. If you see him lazing about on the couch then there is usually some sort of physical ailment involved. Poor guy. He sat and watched his signing time videos while I continued to research and prepare for his big diet change. I've made a few ...

I have, it turns out, the longest legs in Fiji.
Don't ask me how I know this. You'd get a long, rambling story involving too-short pants at every single shop in town, coupled with a shopkeeper, a tape measure, and a look of pure astonishment. What it all boils down to is the fact that my legs are a good two inches longer than anyone's ...

The Returning Long Run Legs

It has been a long time since I have run a distance that I would previously call a long run. My running has recently been cut back so much that I affectionately referred to even a three mile run as a “Long Run” not too long ago.
It doesn’t seem too long ago that I would talk about 10 miles like it was no big deal, even priding mys ...

I got off work and went for a 5 mile run along the Mississippi river. This used to be my normal running route for an easy 5 mile. It hurt the whole way. All this Tri training has stolen my long distance legs. They were screaming at me the whole run. It's like I'm starting all over again. Now my over 2 hours after the run my upper thigh muscles are ...

Today was my long ride. I was on the wind trainer for 2.5 hours.
My legs were flat from the 30 minute mark, but I pushed through it. When I finished, I did not have any sort of a "bonk" feeling like last weekend. I felt pretty good.
As the ride went on, after 1.5 hours my legs actually started to feel better. My heart rate was around t ...
