No real need to run long distances when you can walk, hide, climb, sprint...-distance runners. Most of you know by now that I totally disagree with that theory. In less than a week I am traveling to my favorite empire and going for a little walk. And by little walk, I mean a 73 mile cross country hike which I think still falls into the British definition of "walk."

I took this photo a few months ago on a walk near where I live. It is on a nature preserve and you have to walk about 45 minutes on a path through sand dunes before you get your reward: the ocean! It's a really cool walk and I should do it more often.

Here I am having a short break during today's trail walk. Happy to be able to get some long walks in these past few days, at least two hours each. The weather has been very mild and there's always a soft cool breeze when I go out in the early evening. Came across a deer yesterday. Poor thing looks so thin. I think it was around the same time
