Knitting and more knitting

The other day, a regular blog reader asked me if I was 'still knitting'. Which made me think it was time for a knitty update.
I finished this about 6 weeks ago... to date - it's knitted from the top down in one piece, with the sleeves and collar added afterwards. I'm moderately pleased with it, although it's a little on the big side

from a book and I wanted to learn to knit. But in 1977 no books were really good at teaching a 6 year old left handed kid how to knit. Not to mention the horrid acrylic baby... watching the today show I saw Debbie Stoller talk about her book Stitch and Bitch, realized knitting and fibers were not just for grandmas anymore. The nieces spent a couple of days with us this week, which was a blast! One of the projects we tackled, besides school supply and school clothes shopping was knitting. I had bought the knitting looms and supplies at least six months ago, if not longer, and I always have a dresser drawer (or two) in the spare bedroom full of yarn for them
