I saw that while the main reason given for revision of a total hip joint was dislocation, and pain was the sixth most common reason given; in the case of revision of kneejoint replacements, persistent pain was the most common reason given.
Some studies have shown between 6 – 30% of people receiving total kneejoint replacements have ongoing pain

I know I am probably suffering from confirmation bias but here is some research you can use to answer anyone who tells you that running will be bad or your knees.
According to researchers from Stanford University who studied 98 runners and non-runners since 1984, running is not associated with osteoarthritis.
