I'm Thirsty by Jaime Posted Wed 30 Apr 2008 12:00am I hate it when I wake up thirsty, but nothing seems to quench it. I've tried a big glass of water...blah. I have brushed my teeth...blah. I've got my juice here...but still blah. You know what's stupid? It'll be my coffee that makes me feel better...brew, brew, brew! Yet again, another morning that I'm absolutely exhausted. I thought b ... Read on »
I drink when I get thirsty by Allen Patient ExpertHealth Maven Posted Mon 17 Nov 2008 9:08pm My wakeup HR was 49 and I had a nice one-hour run along the Parkway. I felt pretty good while I ran, but I was glad when I got back, because I was starting to get tired. The temperature was in the mid 80s, and it was a nice day for running. In the past I've drunk liquids every mile because the running literature said to drink before one ge ... Read on »
And just like that... I'm a total pansy. by Amy and April Y. Patient Expert Posted Mon 23 Feb 2009 11:41pm I was on cloud nine. I had kicked ass in the half marathon, my legs and body were feeling awesome... no residual fatigue from the race (or the insane drunkenness) on the weekend. I was on top of my marathon training game. Until Friday morning. Friday morning... my alarm went off at 5:00am. I was supposed to get up and log an EASY 9-miler. ... Read on »
When do you drink water? by WellnessPossibilities Patient ExpertHealth MavenComplimentary & Alternative Medicine Posted Mon 27 Jul 2009 11:41pm By Carol Harblin (CHHC) It's summer, and humidity is rising. What are you drinking throughout the day to stay hydrated? A beer? Soda? Iced tea or lemonade? Beer does taste refreshing on a hot day, but it has alcohol in it which dehydrates you faster. Soda and any other sugary beverage like that aren't really quenching your thirst. ... Read on »
Pain in the Butt by Jeff Patient Expert Posted Sat 13 Jun 2009 12:39am The whole day got turned upside down yesterday, fueled mostly by my desire not to get out of bed early and to run outside. By the time I got home, we were in full early evening frenzy -- Deb was working on dinner and the kids were looking for something (someone) to occupy them. "Hey, boys," Deb said, "daddy's going to go run 5 miles, do you w ... Read on »
The Next Round by Jason Schwartz, LMSW Healthy Living ProfessionalHealth Maven Posted Wed 13 Apr 2011 8:30pm PeaPod recently posted this song. I like Frank Turner, but had never heard this song. To me, it’s a great song and it’s a great recovery song. PeaPod’s post has inspired me to do occasional posts with addiction and recovery themed songs that speak to me. Please feel free to make suggestions, but I’m not really interested in music about gett ... Read on »
Where oh where has our summer gone? by Amy G. Patient ExpertHealth Maven Posted Mon 09 Aug 2010 8:32am When I look out the window it's hard to remember that it's August. Overcast, windy, cool, drizzly. Yeah, lots of Bay Area summer days start this way, but this year it doesn't clear out. Except for a few days where the sun shone and the temps rose to the 90's, it's been cool and gloomy. I'm not complaining (oh wait: yeah, I am) because it's perfec ... Read on »
My inlaws have left. They are n ... by Breeze Posted Fri 02 Oct 2009 3:05pm M y inlaws have left. They are not terrible people but having extra people in the house is stressful. My mother in law is a television fanatic and it drones on constantly throughout the day. Because she's in the living room(although I set up a television in the room they stayed in) the kids are upstairs. That means I have to follow or they w ... Read on »
You Ask, I Answer: Water/Dehydration by Andy B. Healthy Living Professional Posted Fri 12 Sep 2008 9:15am Sometimes I'm really thirsty in the summer and feel weak from the heat. What's the story on fitness waters and flavored sports drinks? -- Antoinette Moore Austin, TX Good, plain old water is undoubtedly the most important nutrient. Not only is 65% of our body made up of it, we also need it to regulate bloodflow and keep all systems and ... Read on »
Thirsty! by Mae Flowers Posted Mon 14 Sep 2009 9:55am I have been soooo thirsty today and I'm not totally sure why! I have had a total of 15 cups of water today and I really haven't been peeing anymore than usual. What is this about!? Last night I did go out for Mexican food where I ate 1/2 cheese quesadilla with chips and salsa, nothing too major. I don't feel bloated by any means. This morning I d ... Read on »
