Next week is full of evaluations, and every different kind of meeting that you could really think of. The week where, as someone put it a few days ago, we find out if these past few years have done anything in our favor or not…and to be honest, hearing those words from a so called “Professional” didn’t give me the warm fuzzy feeling you look f ...

Ahhh...September.
September to me, feels like relief. I don't want to kid myself into thinking we won't have more hot days down here in the mid-Atlantic. I mean, it was pretty hot yesterday even. I have yet to experience a fall down here and I am sure we have our fair share of hot days at least through this month. But I remember coming down ...

I've borrowed the title for today's post from Henry Miller's book by the same name , although the resemblance ends there.
If you are trying to change something about yourself, it's clear that if you don't remember to do whatever it is you have decided on that will create the change, then nothing will change. So if you want to creat ...

I thank God for the many friends He has provided throughout my life.
I am thinking of my good friend, Anushea, since I was in primary school. She has been a very dear friend for many ...

I went out to a Fireworks Display at the local park last night in case someone hurt themselves and needed my first aid kit. I know I shouldn’t have, what with the chest infection – but it was only an hour or two and I didn’t get cold.
I wondered, as I stood with maybe ...

….the 5th of November, Gunpowder, Treason and Plot….
For those of you who are non UKers, we have just had our Bonfire weekend, as it is affectionately called. The weekend where we set off fireworks, light bonfires and generally enjoy ourselves midwinter in memory of Guy Fawkes , who attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament on Nov ...

Even though today is our oldest grandson's 14th birthday and we are celebrating the gift he is in our lives, I cannot help but think back on the changes that took place in our country on September 11, 2001.
Like 97% of our country, I can remember exactly where I was and how I felt that morning when I turned on the TV and watched the terrorist ...

You've probably heard the phrase, "What's goes around, comes around." This is the cyclical nature of karma. Good will and good acts, and ill will and hurtful acts, will circle back to you, so you reap what you sow. This is true for everyone. But this pattern is not an expression of fate or destiny because you have the free will to choose jus ...

That the fifth of November is always my birthday.
I’m actually doing a somewhat political post, since the election is over, I'm not going to sway anyones vote. As a pretty middle of the road guy, I admit, liked both candidates and choosing between the two of them was a bit difficult but in the end (well 3 weeks ago) I mailed in my vote. I like ...
