Luckily, if you arm yourself with a little knowledge it's generally pretty easy to be successful. Here are some things I try and do to eat well on the road, regardless... from time-to-time, but eating a 10 or 12 ounce steak every night probably isn't necessary.
- Whenever possible sub a salad, veggie or even a soup instead of fried side items

they think about their nutrition. Sometimes I get the “I eat pretty bad and need to work on that”, but I also get the ” I eat very healthy”. Then I have them write down a days worth...…
Healthy Meals:
M1 at 9am: Organic granola, banana, berries and yogurt
M2 at 2pm: Turkey Sandwich on oat bread
M3 at 6pm: Salmon and green beans

Instead of eating tons of junk food I switched over to grains because all the nutritional information in the early 90's claimed that high carb diets will make you lean and healthy... to eat healthy, but be conscious of insulin and calories so a better choice would be an omelet with veggies and a cup of green tea.
