I just realized I hadn't yet written up a review of the See Jane Run HalfMarathon in Alameda on June 5th. One reason is that it was almost exactly like last year... expected since I had run a full marathon less than a week earlier. Also, my lungs were still crapped up from the smoke in Vermont. friends? :) Plus, I needed a reason to get off my butt and actually complete a long run. So I attempted this halfmarathon with absolutely NO TRAINING.

13.1 Atlanta Half Marathon - Course and Elevation

Course starts and end at Oglethorpe University (great finish party).
The first 2-3 miles (for my speed) were in the dark. The little speed bumps on dark roads were tripping obstacles.
Small but fun race with no corrals.
The running in the dark in the beginning may have partly contributed to me going out a tad ...

Nicholas Kurgat signed up to run a halfmarathon in Raleigh, N.C. a few weeks ago. But, according to the Raleigh News and Observer, Kurgat, "missed the signs for the halfmarathon turn and found himself deciding at the 13th mile to keep going, even though he had never run a full marathon and was participating

Now there are many other marathons run the world over.
On the 21st March The Fresh Air Fund in NYC are having a half-marathon. As many of our readers are USA based and perhaps around NYC this may just be the spring well-being event for you?
