have a gum disease called periodontal disease. Like everything else on my isn't falling apart! So my routine check-up turned into a tortuous 3-hour procedure of root planing and scaling. Sparing you the painful details....but they had to numb my entire mouth. I was numb for about 4 hours & couldn't eat because they said you could bite a hole in your cheek
