German swimmer Paul Biedermann not only beat Michael Phelps but also shattered the American' s world record in the 200 meter freestyle final at the swimming world championships in Rome.
Biedermann, who was seeded number one going into the final, smashed Phelp' s world record of 1:42.96 set at the Beijing Olympics by swimming the event in 1 minute

Darra Torres does it again and wins the 50 meter freestyle race in Indiana

It was the fourth-best time in the world this year, and it was good enough for Darra Torres ,41-years-old, to win the 50 meter freestyle race in Indianan at the U.S. national championships.
Her time of of 24.43 seconds was about a half second behind the world record of 23.96, which is currently held by Marleen Veldhui of the Netherlands.
