You gals don’t need me to tell you that there is nothing simple and straight forward when it comes to perimenopuase or menopause.
Us women are delicate and complex creatures to begin with and our biology is no different. So, when things decide to go all kitty-whompus (my own word, thank you) like perimenopause, the answers are rarely c ...

Packet Pickup went according to plan and was very easy. It was a nice, smooth process and nowhere near as chaotic as picking up for the Oly at Ironman’s Lonestar 70.3 last year.
After we checked in our bikes we participated in the athlete meeting then headed back to the hotel. Our family and friends and 1 of our coaches, Melanie, were due t ...

Spent most of the day on the couch today, not feeling well. Light headed and heavy headed at the same time, I'm not really dizzy, just sort of light headed, but my head feels heavy, does that make any sense? So I took it easy today. If I still feel like this tomorrow I will take the opposite approach and be active and see if that helps. Also ...

Time to reflect on the technical side of the race. As a first-time 70.3 racer and 2nd year triathlete, I don't expect to be finishing super-duper fast, but I do expect to see improvement from race-to-race. So the goal is to look at what I did right and where I can improve for next time.
Oh, yeah... next time. :)
Memorial Herman Ironman 70. ...

before our Disney trip!
We are bringing our workout gear and are hoping for a few trail runs while we're there!
We plan on relaxing!
But we also plan on having a blast riding rides, watching shows, meeting characters
AND celebrating my littlest man's 3rd birthday while we're there!
Can't believe when we get home, he'll be three. Ah ...

I'm sure you know by now that I prefer to do my cardio sessions outdoors in the elements! Why? When you run outdoors, you must provide all the momentum, fight against gravity/ground forces and fight against the elements! There is no help from cardio machines! That's the way I like it (blame it on 2-a-day football practices in the heat in co ...

So Sunday came quickly and I was debating back and forth whether or not I should attempt this race. First of all it is the longest distance I have run recently and it was only my second run after my injury. I made a deal with myself, I would slow down when I needed to slow down, or stretch or walk, or interval. Whatever I needed to do ...
