the rerouting of blood flow during surgery to treat a brain aneurysm or tumor in people at greater risk of stroke has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration... and temporarily ending blood flow, the agency said in a news release.
About 1,000 people who have brain bypass surgery each year would be at higher-than-normal risk of stroke

I recently spoke with my two major online crochet groups regarding the great need for caps for brain surgery patients. I discussed how there are so many groups that make chemo caps for cancer centers but when facing my first brain surgery I could only find one charity group that was willing to provide me with a cap.

The technique has been developed by Britain's youngest female brain surgeon, Dr. Gelareh Zadeh at University College... apparently given her "a new lease of life". By evening she was at home with her family enjoying a cup of tea and has since made a full recovery.
