I think the thing that really drove me away from painkillers were their reported long-term effects. Reading around, the most frequentyly reported side effect of ibuprofen... (and as I've said before, I'm not an expert!) medical science seems to be undecided about the long-term effects of ibuprofen and other NSAIDs. In writing this I've done a bit of research

A dislocated shoulder hurts – a lot! A shoulder dislocation occurs when the ball of the upper arm bone (humerus) becomes separated from the shoulder blade (scapula) at the very shallow shoulder socket (glenohumeral joint). Here is an excellent x-ray:

Of Dead-lifting and other activities...
A recent post on the DD forum got me thinking a bit - the question arose as to what the long term... in the long term effects of any activity.
In general - with proper form, and cycling of intensity and volume a person can dead-lift for a very long time without detrimental effects
