I just returned from skiing with some buds who never train physically. We would walk up stairs and they would be winded while I could just keep going. Why then, do they just fly down the hills and I struggle??? I have been skiing for 10 years and have taken many a private lesson. I have completed 2 iron-man triathlons,train physically 3-4 times per

The fam and I are heading out for a mini ski trip. We’ll be ringing in the new decade in a slopeside hot tub, spent exhausted and jelloid from a full day of skiing. Then we’ll ski again New Year’s day, when the mountain is deserted because everyone is hungover! I’m hopeful to find powder, and maybe some fresh tracks. I of course expect full

the skis downhill and simply react to what they find. I thought about that statement for the rest of the day, and realized that I really do spend time thinking about where to turn...
I just had an amazing stretch of 9 days where I skied 7 days. That's my best stretch of skiing in a few years, and it was a lot of fun, despite the fact that I was fighting

could walk. I love downhill skiing. Love, love, love it. But, the mountain is super packed this week, tickets start at $100 a day, and I left my ski boots in Florida because I... ;)

been a very eventful weekend.
This weekend was Ski to Sea , Bellingham's annual 7 leg relay race. It's a big deal here. And this year was the 100th year. Lots of whoop whoops!
The race starts at Mount Baker and ends here in Fairhaven. We're talking downhill skiing and cross country skiing, running and road biking, canoeing, mountain biking and kayaking

Although bumps are a much different terrain than typical downhill skiing, there is a secret. You actually will use the same movements as normal skiing, just in a different....) Turn on the side of the bump and across the back/downhill side of the bump.

% of does and fauns would die..... The downhill skiing was great however.
Then the snow let up and the cold set in the second and third weeks. Scott (traverse partner) and I spent the next weeks skiing with most days never getting above -5F and lows between -25 and -38F somehow avoiding nipping the nose. It finally warmed and skiing became more comfortable

much I think I might be getting 6-pack abs, and skied our butts off. It was cold, but that just made the trips to the outhouse that much quicker.
