Washington D.C. midwife Ruth Lubic is saving lives in her busy birth center in one of the poorest neighborhoods of the US capitol. In this area, the infant mortality rate is double the US average, but in eight years of midwifery care for over 800 families, Lubic and the midwives have lost zero babies, and have halved the rate of premature births

to This 2008 Report, 3% of the resident in Washington D.C. over 12 years of age are infected with HIV or AIDS. The report shows that adults between the ages of 40 and 49 years old... 159000 people in the metropolitan D.C. area alone. The report doesn’t get in to sexual preference statistics as in heterosexual vs. homosexual cases.
