Eating high levels of soy products such as tofu may increase the risk of loss of memory especially among the elderly. This conclusion was based on a Loughborough University-led study led by Professor Eef Hogervorst on 700 plus elderly Indonesians in Java. The deterioration in memory may have something to do with high levels of phytoestrogens

wait and just chalk it up to old age or second-guess yourself. Call the Alzheimer's Association (800-272-3900) and ask for a referral to a neurologist specialized in dementia who... an anti-depressant for your elder if needed, which will help to smooth out bad moods. And if you need an anti-depressant for yourself-get one!

JAMA - Use of the herb Ginkgo biloba, claimed to have beneficial effects on memory and cognition, was not effective in reducing the rate of dementia or Alzheimer’s disease among more than 1,500 elderly study participants after several years of use, according to a study in the November 19, 2008 issue of JAMA.

dementia has progressed she has disengaged from society, spending all her time in her apartment except when a caregiver arrives in the morning to urge her to go out for a walk....
Her various sources of pain, which she experienced as a terrible hammer hanging over her head during her pre-dementia days, are now controlled by a targeted array of medications
