All infertile patients want to maximise their chances of success in their IVF cycle. If one embryo has a 20% chance of becoming a baby, and if transferring 2 embryos..., we've reached the point of diminishing returns.
Also, transferring more embryos just ends up increasing the risk of having a multiple pregnancy. While most infertile couples

, they naturally want to maximise chances of success. This is why they want more embryos transferred, in the hope that at least one will implant and become a baby.
Unfortunately, while it is true that transferring more embryos does increase the success rate, it also increases the risk of a multiple pregnancy. Infertile patients are often happy to take this risk
