The Health Protection Agency is now publishing quarterly analyses on MRSA and Clostridium difficile rates. These make interesting reading. There has been good progress... but we shouldn’t be complacent. Kidney services remain with the highest rate of all specialities, zero tolerance needs to be maintained.

Bad news for meat mongers! Clostridium difficile, a bacteria normally linked with severe hospital infections, was found in 40% of meat products tested from 3 national supermarket chains and ground beef, pork, turkey and sausage contain a “super” strain of the bacteria; via MSNBC.
Gross! And previous reports have linked deli meat with listeria
