Nose-Spray Vaccine Against Botulism Effective in Early Tests

A preclinical study found a new nasal spray vaccine to provide complete protection against a major botulism toxin, according to a study published today in the Nature journal Gene Therapy.

Botox / Botulinum toxin More Risky in Children

The Food and Drug Administration said Botox and two other injections carry risks of rare botulism symptoms, particularly when given to children to help relax uncontrollable muscle movements.
I have seen no such serious problems and I have been offering these drugs for ten years. Then again I do not treat children with them.

they made four people sick from botulism. Now the FDA and USDA have issued guidance to companies for proper handling of foods to prevent botulism, which can be fatal.
I don’t understand why people aren’t demonstrating in the streets for better oversight of food safety. Botulism used to be a big problem in low-acid canned foods until the FDA issued rules

recalls in just the last week. One, Castleberry canned foods including 90 types of meat products and 4 types of dog food, because of botulism found in the cans. FYI, botulism has not been found in commercial canned foods since the 1970s. Two, Sara Lee recalled whole wheat bread packaged under the brand names Publix, EarthGrains and Sara Lee and dsitributed
