Last Thursday Jaylon received a blood transfusion to start the weekend. The combination of his chemotherapy drugs have pretty much shocked his bone marrow. Jaylon went in for a blood transfusion in the afternoon today. His HGB was down to 8.2 so his doctor wanted to give him a boost for the weekend. He also received ara-c. We got to the City of Hope at 1:30pm and left around 6:00pm. What a long day. Thank you again for all those that donated blood.

TUESDAY, Oct. 12 (HealthDay News) -- Patients having heart surgery who receive fewer blood transfusions do just as well as those who receive more, new research finds, and yet the rate of blood transfusions varies widely among U.S. hospitals.
