to run for a straight 30 minutes. According to the book, beginner runners are too focused on miles when they should be focused on minutes (yeah that’s me). Once you can run 30... to competively run a 5K or 10K. So I don’t think I plan to finish the book.
Luckily, I had picked up another book at the library that I’m finding more helpful.

Patience is a virtue. Don't feel bad if you can only run for 15 minutes at first. It takes time to build endurance.
Rest is good. Build rest into your schedule. rest is just as important of an element as exercise in your fitness plan.
Reverse split. Practice running faster in the second half of your runs.

Went to our running clinic's 2nd week of track workout tonight. Did 1 mi warm-up, followed by 8x400 (at threshold pace), with each 400 of speed work followed by a recovery...% sure what my overall pace was.) I honestly didn't feel very tired after tonight's track workout, so either my fitness is improving or I'm not working hard enough!

is that you can still run but do it in the deep end of the pool with a
