Saturday morning before heading to the beach for a fun surprise , I attended a workshop over at Lululemon Hyde Park for Baptiste yoga. I got there a solid 20 minutes early, as I suspected it was going to be pretty busy – and busy it was!

Power Yoga is an American adaptation of Ashtanga Yoga and one of the first styles of yoga that was taught widely in gyms and health clubs due to its very physical and challenging practice. Power Yoga utilizes the classic yogic philosophy - the “eight-limbed yoga” (see below) with a very physical practice.

And I say that partly as a confession. I was raised Baptist and yoga happened to be one of those things on a long list of items I was taught to condemn. Right there alongside astrology and evolution and change.
The reasoning is that yoga originates from a pagan source (also known as Hindu philosophy), so no good can come of it. I love ...
