I went to the Dr. today and calculating from my LMP I am 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I had an internal ultrasound and eveything looked normal the sac and the embryo but there was no heartbeat. I am very upset does anyone have any info or similar story??

One of my good friends is pregnant. She is at that stage early in the second trimester when the first ultrasound is usually recommended. She is choosing a home birth, but comes from a medical family who would like her to have an ultrasound. She has medical insurance, but it does not cover any pregnancy related expenses until after her deductible

by the middle of next month.
The clinic that does the free ultrasounds called saying that they moved closer to me (yeah!) but aren't open yet (boo!). They gave me the number of another clinic only one town over than they believe will give me a free ultrasound for pregnancy confirmation. I didn't call yet because I'm afraid they may be able to get me in real soon

One of the modalities, or treatment methods that I commonly use on my patients is called ultrasound. This is the same ultrasound that you used to find out about your baby, with the difference being that in that case it was used diagnostically, whereas in patient treatment it is used therapeutically.

Went in yesterday for 18w2d ultrasound.
All organs in tact and where they should be, 5 fingers and 5 toes, femur and bpd measurements on target. Heart is looking good...
Dr. K said I could come back in 6 weeks, but I laughed telling him you know I would probably be in sooner, he smiled and said you know you always have an open
