Jaylon's counts are looking good. He received vincristine today and will start his steroids again for the next 5 days. He was able to squeeze in a baseball game to finish off the day. Looks like Jay will have a good night's sleep.

technical for non-geeks.
The project is based at Stanford University in the USA.
Anyway I found my answer about 6-MP and 6-TG here – not that I really understand it! But basically 6-TG follows a more direct approach to integrating with DNA than 6-MP. Why this should have resulted in higher mortality for 6-TG in the UKALL 1997 trial I really don't know

Kezia started her last maintenance phase yesterday. Blood counts low so off the IV MTX and 6-MP and 5 days of the dreaded Dex this week - but only three months of treatment to go.

While there are several benefits to using Immuno-modulators, the question becomes, is the risk worth the reward... of surgery. Drugs such as Pentasa or 6-MP have been useful in some patients to reduce the chances of relapse of Crohn's disease after surgery.

After a two week delay Jaylon's ANC was finally high enough to proceed with his spinal tap and first day of Maintenance. He received methotrexate in his spinal fluid and vincristine through his access port. At home he will be taking 6MP, methotrexate, and decadron orally. Jaylon is pictured here
