My 140 minute run/walk became a tired 72 minute jog/walk by Allen Patient ExpertHealth Maven Posted Sat 22 Sep 2012 12:00am I could tell as soon as I started running that my energy level was low. I should have aborted the run, but I continued on, hoping I would feel better after my body warmed up. I did feel better, but not enough to continue my run, and I aborted and returned to my car. My total distance for the run was 3.3 miles. Even though I had a good seven hour ... Read on »

Walked and jogged a bit in a grade school fun run by Allen Patient ExpertHealth Maven Posted Sat 08 May 2010 9:29pm I walked and jogged a bit to finish a fun run with my grand daughter. The distance was not quite three miles. My grand daughter stuck with me for about half the distance and then took off on her own and finished quite a ways ahead of me. The weather was nice, and all of the intersections were guarded by parents so it was safe for the kids to do t ... Read on »

My 60 minute run/walk became a 63 minute run/walk by Allen Patient ExpertHealth Maven Posted Tue 25 Sep 2012 12:00am I had a great hour run and did 3.32 miles again. I went north from 100th South and reached the traffic light at 7th West and 90th South a few seconds past 30 minutes. While going out, I ran a little bit faster than I've been doing, but I went a bit slower on the way back. It's amazing what some extra rest (and cooler weather) will do for my run. ... Read on »
The First Time I Used Run-Walk-Run: 1974 by Jeff G. Healthy Living Professional Posted Fri 12 Feb 2010 8:38am I opened my running store, Phidippides, in 1973 in a location that was not easy to find. The sales volume during the first few months was very slow, to put it nicely. I asked each customer for ideas in connecting with runners or prospective runners. One of the first customers worked in Florida State University's community lifestyle extention ... Read on »
Run 2, Week 2 (CT5K) + Run 2, Week 3 (BOHR) + 1 Hour of Walking: Fitness, Non-Stop, TechnoPop! by Corey I. Patient Expert Posted Sat 18 Oct 2008 4:09pm For those of you who have no clue about pun in the above title, that was a Kraftwerk reference. [Yes, I'm well aware that I'm a total geek (if only on the inside!), so just get over it. ;-)] If, after this further clarification, you still have no clue what the hell I'm talking about, I'm guessing that you probably don't know who B ... Dog Walking: Run Forrest Run… by FitBuff Brandon Patient Expert Posted Fri 02 Apr 2010 5:18am Introduction It's funny how taking a dog for a walk can get really physical with absolutely no warning. There comes a point when it seems as if the dog is taking you for a walk, and is in no hurry to finish its business. Yes, the proverbial sprint, which could bring flashbacks of Jenny screaming 'Run, Forrest, Run' in tryin ... Read on »
