Lately, I have almost given my running a back seat. Oh, I still get a run in 5 days a week, but 4-5 miles is all I have been getting per day. I fear my overall endurance has... splints last spring.
This self imposed mileage deficit will be erased the 1st weekend in February. I plan to do the Dan Man, a trail race in Madill Oklahoma. This is a 50 mile

of control. Usually I will set the treadmill around 7.6-8.0 mph for my runs and my Heart Rate will usually stay in the mid to upper 160's. Today I checked my HR at the 1.5 mile mark... down and my HR dropped down to the lower 170's. With the slower pace I finished the 5k at 26 minutes. I walked a little to get my HR down and then ran another mile at a 9 minute

Sorry I didn't post yesterday about my 26 mile bike ride! It was mostly out of frustration that kept me from the blog. Here is what went... and the virtual training since I didn't know the route and I was riding alone. After about a 20 minute drive I got to the parking area and the fun was just beginning. I pulled the bike out

in some strength training. The P90X workouts have taken a bit of a backseat since I have started preparing for the Triathlon, but that needs to change because I really don't want to lose all the definition in my arms and back!
Today was another long ass day working but at least i was home before dark! So, I did a 4-mile run. I am getting stronger each

:40/mile pace. As required by the training plans (both Higdon and RW) we run this long day at about 75-80% of raceday pace. This way you add the distance on your legs and build up... on the Kingwood Greenbelt trails. These are a series of paved trails that run along the roads and through the woods for like 75 miles. We needed a change of scenery and it ended up being

Just checked my workout logs and I'm up to 101.62 miles running for November. Still have three days left with 9 miles, 5 miles, and 14 miles scheduled. That is a lot of miles for me!
Annie had to be at work early this morning so no morning run for us. She was going to do her run mid-morning, she was working a split shift thing today. And I

Today at around 8 am, Erik & I went to the fitness center for our strength training workout. This morning was a scheduled 45 minute run for the 1/2 mary training program. We woke up and it was raining lightly. Overall it was a pretty decent run. The pace was a 9:40/mile and I sprinted the last 3/4 of a mile to get the HR going. I got it all the way up to 171 bpm!
I actually am enjoying running!
Tomorrow is a cross training day and I

16 Week Marathon Training Plan - Week 6 - Day 3
Today's run was another marathon pace run. I've been trying to keep steady during those runs and to keep the pace up... with a little over a mile run to the starting point of the main set of marathon pace miles. By the time I got to the first mile marker I was right at 7:00 minutes per mile
