 I'm apolitical. When it comes to the home stretch, I'll do my best to make a reasoned decision. This time of year, with the conventions, it's just so much noise I try to tune out. So, something caught my eye on my homepage yesterday. "Sarah Palin is a bad mother" Now I'm defensive on this. Some people think I'm a bad mother. There are days when I think I'm a bad mother, although less than I used to. Twenty years ago, walking my son to kindergarten, it was impossible he would become a drug addict. That happened to the sons of bad mothers. Life sets us straight; bad things happen to good people. You find much has to be taken on faith. My mother was 17 when she got pregnant with me. She was not married. I'm not advocating for it, but life turned out fine, for her and me. I know some people accused my grandmother of being a bad mother. I wonder how many of us would be here if marriage were a condition of conception. I do not know much about Mrs. Palin's public record. But if having a child that goes their own way makes her a bad mother...she can get in line behind me. photo from foundshit.com
