Q:I know you've worked with some cover models and I want a men's health or men's fitness cover model body. I know it's easier said then done but can you give me any advice on where to start.
A: I'm happy that you realize that it is easier said then done. So what are some tips that I can give you to get the cover model body?
-I've been around photo shoots and I've talked to the models and they all have pretty much the same story.
They routinely eat a low carbohydrates, moderate fat and high protein diet.
They train with compound movements unless they know they have a bicep or shoulder specific shoot coming up.
They perform cardio around two to three times per week and a mix of intervals and steady state cardio
Now what about maintaining their abs and getting bigger? Since they need to be in magazine ready shape year round, they'll typically have a three or four week time period where they know that they won't shoot so they up their total calories.
Carbohydrates are taken at breakfast and post workout.
It really is a lifestyle change as opposed to a type of training and nutrition. I mean I'm sure there are "how to be a cover model" products out there but you can't teach consisent action and eating habits.
Oh and another tip for today. Don't take way maize when you train legs, it isn't good...
