After taking systolic blood pressure readings from patients’ right and left arm, doctors discovered that a difference of 20 to 40 mm of mercury (mm Hg) between arms indicated that the patient had blocked arteries. If you check your own blood pressure on both arms and find a consistent difference of more than 11 mm Hg, see your doctor - a blockage may already be forming.
