Back Power Workout with some abs

Posted May 13 08 12:33pm
Today was a nice day at the gym. I am getting my strenght back and with that my motivation. I can’t believe that I felt so bad for over a week. Yuck! I don’t even want to think about it. I am ready to feel like myself again. Hopefully a few more days and I will be back . . . . .

Cardio Workout

Elliptical for 40 minutes —burned over 400 calories

I had it programed to cross-training and had the resistance set at 9 for 15 minutes, then moved the resistance up to 11 for 20 minutes and up to 14 for 5 minutes. The cross-training feature raised the incline about every 5 minutes topping out at the maximum incline and then descending.

Back Power Workout

Front Lateral Pulldown 3 sets of 6 reps with 70 lbs

Cable Standing Reverse Low Row 3 sets of 8 with 130lb

Towel Crunch 3 sets of 15 reps

V bar Lateral Pulldown 3 sets of 6 reps with 70 lb

Reverse grip Row on machine 3 sets of 8 using 90 lb

Crunch with lateral Flexion 3 sets of 15 reps for each side

Jesus Cable Pulldown 3 sets of 6 reps using 70 lb

Dumbbell Deadlift 3 sets of 4 using 30 lb dumbbells (I couldn’t believe that I could only do 4, but it felt like I was going to drop the dumbbells if I would do a count of 5.)

Knee-In or V Crunch 3 sets of 12 reps

I burned a total of 840 calories in 1 hr and 26 minutes.

When I left for the gym I was wondering if I should do weight training today becasue my muscles were sore, but I knew that I was going to work a different body part than I did yesterday. Once I started lifting weights I didn’t even notice any sore muscles. The only soreness I felt was in my abs. But I was able to work through that. Plus I know that you can do ab work back to back days if you want. I try and do abs one day and butt the next. Hopefully, I will be able to try HIIT cardio again next week.

What I really need to work out is a meal plan. It has been in the back of my mind for days. I hope that I can get it done over the weekend. I would like to write a 2 week diet plan of low carb, high protein with calories averaging around 1300-1500 a day. I would like the food to be easy to make and easy to have on hand. I tried googling something like this but couldn’t find it, or the meals came with lengthy recipes. I want it fast and easy. Will post it when I come up with it.
