I'm a 56 year old women, who had a complete hysterectomy at age 21.  I took HRT (by mouth) for many years, but stopped about 6 years ago.  Due to these facts, the doctor assumed that ALL my hormone levels would be very low, so did not do labwork but rather just gave me a bioidentical hormone implant.  Week one: the site of the implant was extemely sore, Week two: my breast were so tender I wore a bra to bed, and Week three: I had SEVERE joint pain, that mimics Rhumatoid Arthritis, but that labwork does not verify.  Eight months later, I continue to be unable to bend all my fingers and have days when I cannot raise my arms (shoulders) or support the weight of small objects (wrists).
