Obviously, this is going to be a short post. The whole back of my left hand is swollen and crampy feeling. That middle finger there has been like that for about 3 years. It still moves though. It has been like that despite medication. You can see why I am searching for alternatives.
So, maybe I’ve convinced you through my last2 posts that you should do something to reduce your “toxic load” but you don’t know where to start. Start by trying your very hardest to stop causing a demand for plastic products. The plastic we produce and consume gets into our bodies eventually and contributes to a toxic and weakened body that is susceptible to disease. Here's my list of how to reduce the amount of plastic in your life, and remember, it takes time to implement all of this; it took me several years to get to this point.
I use a Sigg bottle and never buy plastic water bottles unless it's an emergency. You can also use Klean Kanteens.
Put a bunch of tote bags in your car right now. Bring them into the store with you. Use them with everything that you have to purchase that would require a bag from the store. Don't feel like an nerd. You are being the change you want to see in the world (Ghandi).
Chose products that come in glass instead of plastic. (cosmetics, condiments, peanut butter, other dips and spreads). Let you grocer know what you are trying to do.
Don't use a plastic bag for every produce item you buy. Avocados really don't need a bag...their skin is thick enough.
Stop buying tupperware. If you can, sell it or recycle it. Start washing the glass jars when you finish the pasta sauce. Use these instead of tupperware; it will prevent plastic compounds from leeching into your food.
Never, ever combine heat, food, and plastic. Don't cook with plastic!!
Recycle your plastic so that we don't need to produce more and so that less of it gets into our landfills and water supply.
Filter your drinking and bathing water. More water gets absorbed by your skin in one shower than you drink in a whole day. We really need to be filtering our bathing water.
If you have any other suggestions on how to get plastic out of our lives and our world, please leave them in the comment section!

do you want to see how badly my hands hurt?
