neck joint discomfort

Suffering from an occassional recent loss of balance. I am 85 years old. Last evening, because of this loss of balance hit my head above my left forehead against a wall corner. No pain or consequences, I thought. On waking up this morning it was discomfortable to move my head. on moving my head felt and heard neck bones rubbing against one another. Also saw a small puddle of blood on the floor below the point where I hit my head. Don't know if there is a cause and effect between hitting my head in the evening and morning-developed neck discomfort.
Right now feel slight pain when moving my head down like operating the keyboard of this computer. Less painful to move my head side to side. Appetite seems decreased, but I still had my regular breakfast
