I am a 31 year old female. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis Sep07. About 6 months later I developed joints pains which the doctors (my primary and GI both) attributed to the Asacol. It lasted about a month and went away. I continued to get these episodes of joint pains and now have developed red bumps on my fingers and joint swelling. The red bumps do not hurt unless my hands are extremely cold which happens frequently due to Raynaud's. I had an RF and ESR done last year. The ESR was 38 and the RF normal. Each episode has become worse than the previous and this one has lasted over six weeks and is affecting my daily life (especially since I have a two year old). My doctor is repeating the ESR and doing an ANA and CRP. Should I also have to RF repeated with my new doctor? Is there anything else that should/could be checked? Only one bump was noticable on my last visit, I will be calling to schedule another appointment. I have attached pics. Sorry some are very blurry. Thank you!!
