how to stop taking methotrexate

Posted by jody

I have recently started a natural regimen to manage my psoriatic arthritis and I am feeling really good.  I want to stop taking the weekly .8 cc injections of methotrexate.  Can I stop abruptly or do I need to taper off?

Hey Jody, you should refer back to your doctor who prescribed it.

Methotrexate may cause very serious side effects. Some side effects of methotrexate may cause death. Methotrexate is usually given after other medications have been tried without successful treatment of symptoms. Your doctor should monitor you closely.
