My mother had a cortosone injection in March for atheritis in her big toe. For the past two months it has got progressivly worse and after numerous visits to a nurse and GP and two courses of antibiotics it continues to fill up with puss, remain exreamly painfull and worries us both. She has now been referd to orthapedics for a possible operation. We would very much appreciate if you can tell us what the operation would involve. Also is there anything we should be doing or can do in the meantime? Thankyou
