I went yesterday to Fuquay-Varina to meet with Roxana, our wedding coordinator from Highgrove. We hashed out all the details, from timing and where the various tables will be to what do to with the gifts and the candy buffet. She was great. I didn’t realize she was a wedding planner too, but it’s good to have someone like her on your side, I think.
After hanging out in Fuquay for about a half hour, I drove to Raleigh to give my ring to the jeweler so it could be cleaned, polished and made to look as pretty as it did the day I got it, back in March 2006.
However, after giving up my ring, I felt so naked without it. I’m so used to wearing it that every now and then I nudge my ring finger with my pinky, just to make sure it’s still there. But whenever I did that yesterday, it wasn’t. And that made me sad.
I told Tim and, after he dropped me off at work today, he came back, saying I left something in the car. So, I opened the door for him and he got down on one knee with a plastic ring you can get out of one of those vending machines and asked me to marry him all over again. (Of course, I said yes.) It was very sweet. So now, until I get my ring back tonight, I’m wearing a faceted purple ring on my left ring finger.

Awesome.
