The best treatment for Social Anxiety Disorder is often not medication, but the cognitive behavioral therapies as it will help you find strategies for overcoming your fears. Your family doctor should be able to recommend a therapist in your area.
If therapy isn't available, or doesn't work for you, then benzodiazepines, beta blockers or antidepressants may help. Your family physician will be able to determine which would be most appropriate for you.
Getting help is perhaps more important than the type of treatment. The longer anxiety disorders are left to fester, the harder they can become to treat.
Best wishes
