Settling Into

Posted Aug 10 2011 2:13am
I'm finally settling into my "new life," so my anxiety level has eased up quite a bit sense the last time I wrote. My most recent days have been spent cleaning the apartment and making dinner, driving my brother to the skate park, working on designs, reading on my iPad (something I never thought I'd do), playing with my sweet little pup, baking, and crocheting dishcloths. Let me tell ya, you haven't washed dishes until you've washed them with a crocheted cloth. :) I love how thick, soft and durable they are! But I digress.

One thing I've learned and really put to action in this past month is to not dwell so much on the things I have no control of. Yeah, it's a lot easier said then done, but life is so much more stress free when I'm not focusing so hard on the things I cannot change. Lately I've been getting back into doing the things that make me happy. I'm a simple girl, so it doesn't take much to put a smile on face. Reading a good book or crocheting with my puppy next to me, now that's what makes me happy. Spending time with my family, baking, exercising. These are the things that make me feel like myself.  I know that there will be lots of bumps in the road (hey, that's life), but I won't worry about yesterday, or tomorrow, or the day after that. In this moment, I am happy.
