The Mental Illness Happy Hour is a podcast hosted by comedian Paul Gilmartin, best known as co-host of TBS's Dinner and a Movie. Each week, Gilmartin talks mental illness with another actor or comedian. As the website puts it, "The show is geared towards anyone interested in or affected by
depression, addiction and other mental challenges which are so prevalent
in the creative arts. Paul’s hope is that the show and this website will give people a place to connect, smile and feel the return of hope."
Talk about turning lemons into lemonade.
Interviewees with panic stories include Janet Varney , Gilmartin's Dinner and a Movie co-host; Jen Kirkman (Chelsea Lately, Drunk History); radio and podcasting "personality" Gina Grad ; writer Morgan Murphy (Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, 2 Broke Girls); Chris Hardwick , host of TV shows like MTV's Singled Out as well as the Nerdist podcasts; and Dave Holmes (MTV's Wanna Be a VJ, FX's DVD on TV).
