Is generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) considered a mental illness?

not necessarily. it depends on how it affects your life. that doesn’t mean though that you don’t have a mental health issue. you would still need to be seen and treated by a psychiatristfor it and take a medicine or medicines to treat it. i know because i am being treated for anxiety but mine is much more serious since it more severe thus making it a mental illness nnot just a health issue.
