I'm having lots of trouble sleeping more than two hours at the time.  Also I'm having a very hard time concentrating in meetings and i find myself reading the same emails a few times.  The smallest things going wrong our causing me to snap.  I have been promoted lately and with the promotion is a lot of new stress.

The symptoms you've described are typical of someone under a lot of emotional stress, Creighton.

Have they started since your job promotion, or have they been apparent for some time? If they are recent then hopefully they will ease and stop as you become settled into the job. However, don't let it go on for more than a month or two. OTOH, if the job has just added to an already stressful life then you need to seek help. I suggest that you discuss your situation with a physician. Doing a stress management course or consulting a therapist would, IMHO, be better than taking the medication option. I appreciate this may be difficult, but it is important that you take time to care for yourself. If you don't the effects on your body may well force the issue anyway.

Best wishes

Ian
