I have been getting this pain since I was about 16 and it is pretty severe. The pain only lasts a few minutes and then goes away. I have also noticed my heartbeat is a bit irregular at times, but am not sure if the two are related.
I don't think this is related to an anxiety disorder, though no doubt it is causing you some anxiety. Your family physician should be able to determine the cause and be able to suggest a remedy.
