Spooky Crystals that Freak You Out

I don't read horoscopes. I don't believe in fairies or angels. Fortune telling, tarot cards, runes and gypsies who read your palm are pretty suspect as far as I'm concerned. It's all nonsense isn't it?

Well here's a odd thing. Whilst rooting through an old jewelry box I found a small Swarovski crystal heart that's been in there for ages doing nothing much. Picking it out of the box I thought perhaps that it might be put to good use on a greetings card to someone. Then a memory popped into my head of a little demonstration my mum had once performed requiring a crystal. She'd learned it at a 'yoga retreat week' that she'd taken during a period when she was serving us lentils and dried beans for dinner decades ago, and had returned in a state of serenity and dreamy calm. At the time, though I was quite young, the cynicism had already developed to an advanced stage. However, this evening, with this crystal I thought I'd open my mind and see if this phenomenon still worked. It did.

Here's what I did. I threaded the crystal onto a length of cotton and held it in my fingers so that it just simply hung straight down. Then I dangled it over some objects to see if it would do anything. Sure enough, over an ashtray it stayed still. So I tried a few variations, and nought happened. When I placed it over a bottle of alcohol free beer it went nuts. Round and round really rapidly in a circle over the top. Depending on the object below it moves as if with a force all of it's own, gaining momentum, and I swear I did nothing to set it in motion. It seems to work best when placed above organic items. Over certain parts of my body (well I had to try) it goes bananas, swinging faster and wider into a sweeping circle. Though having very little knowledge of such things, oddly this phenomenon happened exactly over the points of the body that the Hindus call the Chakras , the energy centres. Pretty amazing and a wee bit spooky!

Now this is the really freaky part. Same technique again, though any object that acts like a plumb on a fine string will do. You're supposed to use a crystal but whatever. You hold your hand straight out, palm down, and rub the cotton up and down against your skin between your finger and thumb three times . Then you hold it steady over your hand . It will tell you apparently how many children you will have and of which sex, in order. If you have none, it stays still over your hand. If it's a boy it swings back and forth in a straight line as a clock pendant would keeping time. A girl and it will go round in a perfect circle. (Or could be the other way around? umm? think that's right). You must rub the string as explained each time before testing again . The spooky thing is that I've tried this about five times now, and every time it does exactly the same! Twice it swings in a straight line, once in a circle, and then on the forth go it stops still. End of.

Just tried it one last time. My God, that's it, precisely the same action in the same order! I'm not freaked out but I'm totally fascinated. Bugger! Three kids! Deep breath girl, it's all nonsense, isn't it? Someone please explain?
