Complementary and alternative anxiety treatments.

There's been lots of research published regarding the effectiveness of psychoactive drugs and psychotherapies in treating anxiety and panic, but very little in the way of peer-reviewed studies of complementary and alternative anxiety treatments. An article in the October 2010 issue of Current Psychiatry Online takes a step toward changing that by looking at treatments including yoga ( previously on PANIC! ), exercise ( previously ), bibliotherapy (a kind of self-directed CBT ), and dietary supplements like kava and inositol .

The bottom line: They can all help.
