can anxiety cause swollen lymph nodes

While there is considerable evidence for a bidirectional role between the immune system and anxiety and depression, I doubt that anxiety is causing your lymph nodes be be swollen, raj. 

The swelling may be related to what I assume was unprotected sex, a coincident response to an unrelated illness, or it could also be that you are perceiving normal glands as being swollen because of your anxiety about having had risky sex. Most people underestimated just how big swollen glands are. I suggest you search images.google.com for swollen lymph node neck and compare the results with what you're seeing in the mirror.

If you do have enlarged lymph glands and you think you are at risk for HIV, get tested.
